Clown in a dream
A clown in a dream is read as an invitation to take things more lightly and not be shy about laughing at yourself.
The clown is a circus figure whose job is to cheer people up, so newer dream books tie him to laughter and play. A dream about one is read as a reminder that you are taking some worry more seriously than it deserves. A painted face may also mean that someone hides shyness behind a joke. If the clown seemed odd or unpleasant to you, do not worry: it is believed to be nothing more than weariness with other people's pretending. Feel free to carry the laughter from this dream into your day.
The most common dreams
Dreaming of a clown at the circus
By tradition, a circus ring means a colorful, merry period. An outing or an event at which you will laugh like a child is believed to await you.
Dreaming of being a clown in front of children
A red nose on your face is read as a gift for cheering others up. Old folk would add that now and then you should let someone make you laugh, too.
Dreaming of a clown giving you a balloon
A balloon from his hand means a small, cheerful present or surprise. It is said that joy is lighter and lovelier when it is shared with someone.
Dreaming of a sad clown
A sad clown is considered a picture of someone who laughs but would like to talk. People believe you will recognize who needs a kind word, and that you will say it.
These interpretations come from folk tradition and are meant for fun; they do not predict the future and are not advice for life decisions.
