Dancing in a dream
In folk belief, dancing in a dream means harmony and joy: things are moving in a rhythm that suits you.
Old dream books read dancing as merriment and good will. It is believed that whoever dances easily in a dream is finding their rhythm at work and among people. A dance for two is read as understanding without words, and the kolo, the Balkan circle dance, as harmony and belonging. If you stumbled in the dream, people only laugh: even the best dancers miss a step and carry on. The dream says you need not know every step in advance to enjoy the music.
The most common dreams
Dreaming of dancing with someone
By tradition, you and that person, or someone like them, understand each other well. The dream is read as a closeness in which each follows the other.
Dreaming of dancing the kolo circle dance
Harmony and belonging, that is how the old folks read the kolo in a dream. Folk belief says a celebration is coming where everyone stands side by side.
Dreaming of dancing alone
The old folks say you feel good in your own skin and need no spectators. The dream speaks of freedom and good spirits.
Dreaming that you do not know the steps
The folk reading is cheerful: you are stepping into something new and learning as you go. Whoever is not ashamed of a wrong step soon catches the rhythm.
These interpretations come from folk tradition and are meant for fun; they do not predict the future and are not advice for life decisions.
