Earthquake in a dream
Folk tradition does not take an earthquake in a dream literally: it means a bigger change of habits, plans or surroundings.
In folk belief, an earthquake in a dream says something in your everyday life is shifting from its old place: your schedule, your duties, your opinion of someone. Old dream books call it the dream of people facing a change, such as a new school, job or move. The shaking stands for excitement, not danger. When the ground in the dream settles, it is said you are finding a new balance too, often better than the one before.
The most common dreams
Dreaming of the ground shaking

Dreaming of an earthquake in your house
Old dream books say the order of things at home is changing, for example furniture, habits or chores. The change, it is believed, is for the better.
Dreaming of running outside in an earthquake
In folk belief, you find your feet quickly when circumstances change. The dream shows you have good instincts and a cool head.
Dreaming that the earthquake has passed
It is said the excitement is behind you and a calm stretch follows. The dream brings relief and a feeling of firm ground under your feet.
These interpretations come from folk tradition and are meant for fun; they do not predict the future and are not advice for life decisions.
