Spider in a dream
In folk interpretation, a spider in a dream stands for patient work, skill and a job that slowly pays off.
Many people are afraid of spiders, but old dream books read them kindly: as a diligent craftsman patiently weaving its web. A dream about a spider is believed to speak of work that advances thread by thread. If it felt unpleasant in the dream, it is said you feel tangled up in some obligation. Rest easy – by tradition, a spider in the house guards the luck of the home.
The most common dreams
Dreaming of a spider web
A web is read as a tangled situation that you will unravel with patience. It is also believed to stand for a well-planned piece of work.
Dreaming of a big spider
In folk belief, a big spider stands for a worry that is smaller in real life than it looks. Once you walk up to it, it shrinks.
Dreaming of killing a spider
Folk interpretation says you are breaking off something that has held you back for a long time. Some dream books add that you should not rush into sudden moves.
Dreaming of a spider lowering itself
People say a spider coming down from the ceiling brings a guest or pleasant news. It is considered a good sign.
These interpretations come from folk tradition and are meant for fun; they do not predict the future and are not advice for life decisions.
