Television in a dream
A television in a dream is read as a window onto other people's stories and a reminder not to forget your own.
Old dream books never knew the television, but people today read it much like a window: it shows what you watch from the sidelines. A dream about a TV is believed to speak of news arriving from afar and of how much attention you give to other people's lives. If the picture was clear, it is read that you see things around you well. If it was hissing with static, that is only a sign you need a break from the noise and a little more quiet before bedtime.
The most common dreams
Dreaming that you are watching television
By folk belief, watching a program in a dream means you are only observing some situation for now. When you are ready you will join in too, with no rush and no pressure.
Dreaming of yourself on television
If you saw yourself on the screen, it is read that your effort will be noticed. People say praise is waiting for you, or a chance to show what you know.
Dreaming of a broken television
A screen that will not work is read as an invitation to spend the evening talking with someone dear instead of in front of a program. Quiet, old folk say, can feel good.
Dreaming that you are buying a new television
A new TV is a sign of a wish for fresh impressions and fun. It is believed an invitation to a get-together is coming, or some interesting news from the neighborhood.
These interpretations come from folk tradition and are meant for fun; they do not predict the future and are not advice for life decisions.
