Caterpillar in a dream
A caterpillar in a dream is read as the start of a transformation and the patience from which something lovely will grow.
In the folk view, a caterpillar is a butterfly still waiting for its time. In a dream it is therefore read as a task, a feeling or a trait that is ripening slowly and asks not to be rushed. If it felt unpleasant, that is believed only to show impatience: you would like the result right away. Old dream books call this a dream with a good outcome, because what crawls does arrive. Give yourself time and do not compare yourself with others.
The most common dreams
Dreaming of a caterpillar on a leaf
A caterpillar calmly eating a leaf means you are gathering strength and knowledge for the next step. By folk belief, none of it will be in vain.
Dreaming of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly
A transformation before your eyes is considered an exceptionally lovely dream. It is read as a change after which you will feel lighter and freer than before.
Dreaming of many caterpillars
Folk read a host of caterpillars as small chores that move along slowly. It is said that taking them one at a time is enough for everything to fall into place.
Dreaming of a caterpillar on your hand
It is believed that something fragile is coming into your hands and asks for gentleness: a new idea, someone's trust or a skill just begun. Look after it patiently.
These interpretations come from folk tradition and are meant for fun; they do not predict the future and are not advice for life decisions.
