How to pull selected pages out of a PDF

  1. 1
Press "Select PDF file" or drop the document into the box. Thumbnails of all pages appear.
  2. 2
Click the pages you want – each gets a blue check mark. Or fill in "Pages to extract", for example 1-3, 7.
  3. 3
Under "Result" choose "All selected pages in one PDF" or "Each selected page as a separate PDF".
  4. 4
Press "Extract pages" and download the new PDF or the ZIP archive.

Only what the other person really needs

A rental agency asks for the signature page of the lease, not all fifteen pages. You want to send your sister three recipes from a PDF cookbook. From the boiler manual you only need the error code table, to print and tape next to the unit. Instead of the whole document, Extract pages gives you a small PDF with just the pages you picked.

Pick by clicking or by number

Clicking a thumbnail marks the page with a blue check mark and a frame; a second click clears it. If you know the numbers, type them into "Pages to extract": "2, 5-8, 30-" means page two, pages five through eight and everything from page thirty to the end. Clicks show up in the field and typed numbers show up on the thumbnails.

One PDF or a file per page

The default is "All selected pages in one PDF": you get a single file with "-extracted" added to its name. Choose "Each selected page as a separate PDF" and every selected page becomes its own file, with the page number in the name, delivered together in a ZIP archive.

Order follows the original

Whatever order you click or type in, pages in the new file follow the source document: pick page nine and then page two, and two still comes before nine. For a different arrangement, run the new file through Organize PDF.

Quality, privacy and related tools

Pages are copied as they are, so text stays searchable and images keep full resolution. The document is processed in your browser, is not uploaded, and the original stays unchanged. To divide a whole document into parts, use Split PDF; when only a page or two is in the way, Remove pages is faster.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from "Split PDF"?
Here you pick individual pages and get them in one new file or one file each. "Split PDF" divides the whole document into several parts by the ranges you set.
Can the pages appear in the order I picked them?
No. They always follow the original order. Rearrange them afterwards with Organize PDF.
When do I get a ZIP archive and when a plain PDF?
You get a ZIP when you choose "Each selected page as a separate PDF". With "All selected pages in one PDF" you download a single PDF file.
How do I select everything from a certain page to the end?
Type the first page number and a dash, for example "12-". That covers page twelve through the last page.
What happens to the original document?
Nothing. It stays complete and unchanged on your device, and you get a new file.
